Full Description:

How can you give feedback in a way that it is heard? How can you make your meetings more effective, or even decide whether or not you need a meeting? In this session, Leslie Sholl Jaffee, designer & instructor for the Hillel U Course: Leonard & Tobee Kaplan Supervisory Leadership Program, will teach two content modules adapted from the supervision course. In the first segment, professionals will learn the art of giving and receiving feedback. In the second part of the session, professionals will learn about the tool "POP" to clarify the Purpose, Outcomes and Process for any group discussion or meeting, and how to use it to think and plan with a focus on producing results.

Instructor Bio:
Leslie Sholl Jaffe has worked in the arena of transformational development for 30 years. Her experience in consulting and training has traversed for-profit businesses as well as the nonprofit world and social justice work. Her expertise is in managing whole system change; leadership development; training design and facilitation; effective communication; expert meeting facilitation; and coaching for personal and professional development.

For the last 17 years Leslie has been a senior trainer/consultant with the Rockwood Leadership Institute, helping to develop their trainings as well as their cadre of highly skilled facilitators.  In collaboration with Bend the ARC a Jewish Partnership for Justice, the Nathan Cummings Foundation and Rockwood, Leslie has been the senior trainer and curriculum designer for the Selah Leadership Program; and working closely with The Jewish Federation of NY, Leslie leads their John Ruskay Fellows, Rockwood Art of Leadership program. 

Leslie has been an associate with the Stratton Consulting Group since 1988 (previously ARC International), where she worked with a diverse set of clients ranging from ATT to the Donna Karan Company.  She was, for 10 years one of the chief architects and trainers for “Leadership at Chase”, an executive leadership development program at JPMorganChase.  Her most recent work with them was for Bayer Health Care at a meeting of their top 100 leaders from around the world. 

Leslie’s current consulting practice work includes (but is not limited to): The Human Rights Campaign, an organization committed to equal rights for the LGBTQ community; Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy, an organization committed to improving the lives of working men and women; Exponent Philanthropy, a DC based, national organization that guides ‘small-staffed’ foundations; The Joint Distribution Committee, Entwine – working to build the next generation of Jewish philanthropists through education and service learning; and Hillel International, Hillel U – a newly launched professional development initiative to ensure Hillel Professionals have the skills they need to best serve their students.

Leslie lives in Austin, Texas with her husband David.  They have two grown children, Dara who lives in Los Angeles CA, and Gary who lives in Brooklyn NY.
