Full Description:
An opportunity to learn about the intersecting commonalities between Hillel & Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC). This session will include an introduction to interfaith cooperation, research, and serve as an exploratory session defining what it means to be both a Hillel professional & an Interfaith Leader. Presentation will discuss key interfaith terms and research, as well as the history of religion and spirituality within higher education.  

This Course is for:

All Hillel Professionals. Geared for Engagement Professionals.

Instructor Bio: 
Janett I. Cordovés, Co-Curricular Partnerships Manager at Interfaith Youth Core, equips and empowers campus professional staff to be interfaith leaders. Through research, curriculum building and training, publications, and webinars, Janett seeks to elevate the priority of interfaith leadership on all campuses.  

Prior to joining Interfaith Youth Core, Janett worked in various capacities within student support services as well as within academic initiatives with Semester at Sea, Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, Barnard College/Columbia University, Northeastern Illinois University, Boston College, and Montclair State University.  Janett serves as the Communications Chair for NASPA’s Spirituality and Religion in Higher Education Knowledge Community and as the Associate Social Media Editor for the Journal of College and Character. Most recently Janett served as an Executive Committee Member for NASPA's Inaugural Convergence on Religious, Spiritual, and Secular Identities conference and presented a research poster on #DigitalFaith spaces. Janett is currently pursuing her doctorate in Ethical Leadership at Olivet Nazarene University where she is focusing on first-generation college students' spirituality and the relationship between their level of grit, equanimity, and spiritual qualities.


Participation in all Hillel U offerings should be agreed upon by the participant and their supervisor (unless the participant is a director)
