Full course description

One-time, online, 60 minute session

Full Description:

Imagine having the clarity and confidence to excel at legacy giving conversations and be able to secure larger gifts for Hillel - for now AND in the future.

In this online session, we will go through a step-by-step process to understand what legacy giving is at its core and how it can fit synergistically with other fundraising efforts.  We will also discuss common mindset blocks about legacy giving that can hold us back from successful planned giving fundraising.

This course will give you easy-to-grasp knowledge so you can take better and faster action. The goal of this session is to provide an overview of planned giving, as well as foundational principles to re-frame the short-term mindset that holds back many nonprofits from realizing their full potential and focus on long-term opportunities. You will see how to develop unshakable confidence to have meaningful conversations with your donors.

This interactive session consists of a presentation and workshopping with a Q&A at the end.

This Course is for:

Instructor Bio:
Lori Kranczer believes firmly that planned giving, or “legacy giving,” which are ways donors make impactful gifts through endowments, bequests in wills or other structured gift vehicles, should be a vital part of the fundraising practice of every nonprofit organization, no matter the size, budget or mission.   Lori partners with organizational leaders to customize planned giving programs that substantially and consistently support organizations far into the future.

Lori has over 18 years of experience advising nonprofit organizations on conceptualizing and building planned giving programs, training volunteer leadership and staff, soliciting and closing significant planned giving arrangements, including those blended with major gifts, and working with donors, their families and advisors on structuring the appropriate gifts to meet their philanthropic and financial goals.

Prior to consulting, Lori held senior planned giving roles at major New York-based nonprofits, and in each, expanded the reach and depth of the legacy programs.  An experienced attorney, Lori applies her knowledge of complex giving structures to the practice.   She has also taught planned giving at New York University and Yeshiva University, and she frequently speaks at staff trainings and Board of Directors meetings. She graduated from Binghamton University and New York Law School.

Lori lives in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn with her husband and two children.  In her spare time she enjoys renovating her 100+ years old creaky Victorian house.

Participation in all Hillel U offerings should be agreed upon by the participant and their supervisor (unless the participant is a director)
