Full course description

Description: Hillel professionals need to be ready to engage with their community immediately following an anti-Semitic incident. We will discuss security preparedness for Hillel building and events, communications with stakeholders and on social media after an incident and the best ways to engage with university administrators, the local Jewish community, law enforcement and other stakeholders - using SF Hillel's extensive experience at SF State as an example. We will also introduce key partners, including JFNA’s Secure Communities Network (SCN) and the Anti-Defamation League.     

Instructors: Matt Berger is Vice President of Communications for Hillel International.  Tracy Turoff is Vice President and General Counsel for Hillel International.  Doron Horowitz is Senior National Security Adviser for Secure Communities Network.  Elissa Buxbaum is Director of Campus Affairs for the Anti-Defamation League. Ollie Benn is Executive Director at San Francisco Hillel. Rachel Nilson Ralston is Assistant Director at San Francisco Hillel.
