Description: The nature of working at Hillel implies that you are often positioned to play a vital role in recognizing and responding to students experiencing emotional distress. This session will provide an overview of the scope and impact of mental health and substance use issues among college students. Participants will learn how to recognize the warning signs of distress, acquire strategies and skills for approaching students with concern for their well-being and learn how to connect students with appropriate resources.
