Description: The relationship between Israel and Palestine is complicated, and diaspora Jews are implicated in Israel as a diaspora “project” in interesting ways. In this session, we’ll learn different approaches to thinking about and engaging with the Israeli-Palestinian relationship. Senior Hillel professionals, often caught in the campus crossfire, will find valuable perspectives and strategies for wrestling with the inherent complexities.
Instructors: Michael Simon is the Executive Director of the Northwestern University Hillel. Josh Ladon is the Bay Area Manager for the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America. Yona Shem Tov is the Executive Director of Encounter, an educational organization that cultivates informed Jewish leadership on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
