Full course description

Description: Our college campuses and secular as well as Jewish student communities are more diverse than ever.  As we work to lead, nurture, encourage and advocate for our students—especially in a Social Justice environment--campus relations, coalitions and dynamics are more complicated and in some ways are more precarious than ever.  With the goal of deepening understanding to foster and fortify diverse Jewish community relationships as well as broader inter-identity campus relationships, we will learn from stories from the field, situate experiences within a conceptual and historical framework, and explore strategies and tools to make our work and connections more effective and durable.

Instructor: Ilana Kaufman is the Public Affairs and Civic Engagement Director, East Bay, for the San Francisco Bay Area Jewish Community Relations Council

Intended Audience: Open to all who want to explore how lenses of justice and intersectionality relate to our work.  Those who work directly with students and those at the organizational/strategic influence level are encouraged to attend.
