Full course description
Description: A murderer and an apostate, Queen Jezebel is one of the most maligned figures in literary history. A close reading of her story reveals Jezebel to be an extremely powerful figure who defies the Bible's gender conventions. In this session, we will consider the threat Jezebel poses as a powerful woman, and how the Bible responds to this threat, and why Jezebel should be counted among the Bible's most important figures.
